Luxembourg defeated Georgia in a valuable opening match
It was clear from the start of the championship that the match between Georgia and Luxemburg would be practically crucial for both teams in terms of the tournament standing situation, as two teams of equal strength faced each other.
The expectations were justified and the start of the match turned out to be very tense and nervous, the teams were following each other point by point and neither team was able to gain the advantage. So the big period of the first half was like a scenario, but 10 minutes before the end of the half, the Luxembourg team gained a playing advantage, which could not be eliminated by two time-outs taken by the head coach of the Georgian national team and the first
half of the match ended in a convincing 9-13 victory for the Luxembourg national team.
Despite the fact that the Georgian national team tried to turn the game around in the second half and so there was a period when the difference between them and the opponent was reduced to a minimum, the Georgians still failed to gain a turning advantage and equalize the score and move forward. The match ended 20-24 in the final, with Luxemburg winning.
